The Libyan Prime Minister announces the resumption of Italian airline flights to Libya

On the sidelines of the opening of the 30th Libyan-Italian Economic Forum held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds, Prime Minister of the interim Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, along with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, inaugurated the forum's activities.

According to the official Facebook page of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing fruitful bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Italy, which has seen significant development recently. He announced that Italian airlines would resume operations from Libyan airports starting next December.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed pride in the cooperation between Libya and Italy in achieving mutual goals, affirming Italy’s continued commitment to supporting Libya’s economic sustainability. Over 2022-2023, trade between the two countries has doubled.

The Libyan Prime Minister also announced the reactivation of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement, which had been suspended for 14 years, and the lifting of travel restrictions for Italian businesspeople to Libya.

Amid these developments, Libya is experiencing growth and prosperity in the tourism sector, helping the country recover from previous political and economic tensions.
